Constipation is a common childhood problem that can be diagnosed and often easily treated. If your child has not had a bowel movement in more than three days or has excessive straining or hard stools, there is need for concern.
A small amount of blood can be normal with constipation, but if you see blood, call the office or make an appointment for the child to be evaluated.
There are many different over the counter remedies - please call the office and discuss further recommendations if you have concerns.
